Lynn Vision’s EmiliaQAQ shares inspiration for going pro in CS2: ‘I want to prove that I can support my family’

It's hard not to root for this lovely guy.

Tang “EmiliaQAQ” Junjie and Lynn Vision Gaming are stealing the spotlight at the CS2 BLAST Austin Major 2025 that is filled with superstar players and world-class teams.

Seen as clear underdogs in the tournament, nobody expected Lynn Vision to ignite their dream run on the biggest stage of Counter-Strike. The Chinese squad powered through Stage 1 with a 3-2 record, then pulled off a massive upset over Team Falcons and repeated the same 3-2 magic in Stage 2. Now, they’re standing toe-to-toe with the world’s best teams in Stage 3.

At the heart of the Asian team’s Cinderella run at Austin Major is none other than EmiliaQAQ. Not only the 20-year-old rifler has been delivering explosive performances in the server, but he’s also become a community darling thanks to his hype celebrations and hilarious interviews, showing his burning passion for the game.

But behind the memes and moments is a deeper, emotional story about his path to becoming a professional Counter-Strike player. In his caption for a video on Douyin (China’s version of TikTok) celebrating Lynn Vision’s successful qualifcation for Stage 3 of the Major, EmiliaQAQ opened up about why he chased this dream in the first place.

“Mom, the day I decided to go pro, you cried and begged me not to go pro. But we no longer have a financial source at home, we all rely on you. I want to share some of the burden with you. I don’t want to be a burden to you,” he wrote, translated from his original post.

He added, “I want to prove to you that I have the ability to support this family so that you and my brother can have a better life.”

EmiliaQAQ also shared that he deeply misses his father. “Dad, it’s been so long since we saw each other. I miss you.” He later explained that his father had been imprisoned for years and was only recently released.

Lynn Vision’s run is still alive and kicking in Stage 3. They started with a convincing 13-5 victory over Team Liquid, but fell to Team Spirit 7-13 in the second round—both games played on Dust2. Holding a 1-1 record, they’ll take on fellow Asian squad The MongolZ in another best-of-one, aiming to inch closer to the playoffs.

Lynn Vision need to win two more matches (including a best-of-three series) to secure a playoff spot. And although the odds are heavily stacked against their favor, I just can’t help but root for this inspiring squad, especially for EmiliaQAQ. This guy is not just gunning to win, he’s playing with a big purpose and a whole lot of heart.
